The Metropolitan of Bessarabia met with the delegates of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldovatranslated

His Eminence Father Antonie, Metropolitan of Bessarabia, received on Wednesday, at the Metropolitan Residence in Chisinau, a delegation of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova (DRRM) within the Government of Romania, consisting of Ana Maria Dumitroiu-Şofâlcă, head of service, and Mr. Octavian Dragomir, economic director.

The meeting was dedicated to institutional cooperation and projects implemented with the support of the Romanian government in the three dioceses of the Metropolis of Bessarabia. This year, Romania financially supports 16 projects, which contribute to the development of infrastructure and activities carried out for the benefit of communities.

Spiritual and identity strengthening Father Metropolitan Antonie emphasized the fundamental role of the Metropolis of Bessarabia in the spiritual life and in the affirmation of the Romanian identity in the Republic of Moldova. Through its network of parishes, monasteries and social institutions, the Metropolis ensures a constant presence in communities, combining spiritual and pastoral ministry with educational, cultural and philanthropic initiatives.
