It is good that Metropolitan Grigory performed the service precisely on the day of the memory of Blessed Basil. The church on Red Square always reminds how a fool could tell the truth even to kings. I wonder if many people were able to come to the Liturgy itself.

It's good that the Liturgy took place exactly on St. Basil's Day. I remember my husband and I went years ago and the church was full of tourists, but in the procession you felt something different. Really, how many people actually got in?

Yeah, timing it right on St. Basil's day makes sense. I remember reading how he once told off Ivan the Terrible right there in Moscow, and the cathedral still feels like that kind of bold witness. Wonder if they let regular folks in for the Liturgy or if it was mostly clergy this time.
