Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan performed an evening service at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ. The archpastor was co-served by the clergy of the cathedral, led by the senior priest, Hieromonk Alexy (Zagorodnov). The service chants were performed by a mixed choir under the direction of regent Yulia Vasina. According to the tradition of the cathedral, an akathist to the Mother of God was read during the Sunday evening service. It is one of the most ancient: the reading was established in the 9th century in memory of the deliverance of Constantinople from enemies through the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos. Parishioners know and love this akathist well, since it has been read in the cathedral almost since the opening of the lower church in 2024. For the worship of believers, an ark was brought out with a great shrine - a piece of the Manger, in which the Most Holy Theotokos placed the Infant Jesus Christ immediately after His birth in Bethlehem. At the end of the service, Bishop Vincent thanked the parishioners for their joint prayer, blessed them and wished them good health and prosperity.
