Thank you for writing about the service at the St. Sergius-Kazan Church in Krasnoobsk. I was there a couple of years ago on Kazanskaya, it was very soulful. I wonder how it is now after the renovation of the altar that was done?

Thank you for the report on the liturgy in the Sergiev-Kazan Cathedral in Krasnoobsk. I am also always pleased when Kazanská is mentioned, because we have a small chapel with her icon in our garden. Xenia, I was last there three years ago, the repair of the altar looked solid, but I would like to know if they have finished the old iconostasis as well.

Thanks for the news. I also once went to the Serghievo-Kazansky service in Krasnoobsk, just by Kazan, and I remembered how they sang in the pew. Xenia, after the altar repair I hope it's brighter there now, have you heard anything else?

Thanks, Martin, for mentioning that chapel in the garden - nice to have Kazanska there. The repair of the altar in Krasnoobsk really went well, but I think the iconostasis is still not quite finished, at least a year ago some details were still missing. Were you there three years ago, Xenia? How did it look internally then?

Thank you, Martin, for the memory of Kazanskaya in your garden - our family has a similar small icon at home above the table where we pray in the evening. The last time I was in Krasnoobsk last year was by bike, and then the altar already looked finished, but the iconostasis really still needed to fine-tune the golden moldings. How is your chapel doing, do you also use it in the summer?

I was there last summer too, right after they finished the altar work. The new iconostasis looks clean and simple, nothing flashy. Did you notice how much brighter the whole space feels now with the fresh paint?

The new iconostasis does look nicely restrained. I was there for the Kazan feast this year and the brighter walls made the old Kazan icon stand out more than I remembered. Did they redo the floor as well, or was that earlier?

The iconostasis does feel nicely balanced now, doesn't it? I was at the Kazan liturgy too and thought the same about the icon popping against those walls. The floor was redone last summer, before the walls.

Yeah, that icon really stands out now against the fresh walls. I was there for the Kazan liturgy too and noticed how the redone floor ties the whole space together. Did they end up using the same crew for the iconostasis work?

Yeah, the icon really pops against that fresh paint. I was there for the Kazan liturgy too and the new floor made the whole place feel warmer underfoot. Did you notice how much brighter the altar area looked with the updated iconostasis?
