Metropolitan Nikita took part in the conference of the regional branch of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Societytranslated

On September 25, the regional scientific and practical conference “Biblical Palestine Readings”, organized by the regional branch of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, was held in the Bishops' House of Krasnoyarsk. Metropolitan Nikita of Krasnoyarsk and Achinsk took part in the event. The presenter was the head of the Krasnoyarsk branch of the IOPS Sergei Gonyukhov.

The meeting opened with a general prayer and a welcoming speech from the head of the Krasnoyarsk Metropolis. Bishop Nikita noted that several significant events coincided this year: the 15th anniversary of the regional branch of the IOPS, the 150th anniversary of the Synodal translation of the Bible and the 165th anniversary of the formation of the Krasnoyarsk (Yenisei) diocese. The Metropolitan emphasized that, despite historical vicissitudes, church life on Krasnoyarsk land continued and will continue.

Then the awards ceremony took place. In recognition of his work for the benefit of the Russian Orthodox Church and in connection with his 65th birthday, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, Bishop Nikita awarded Sergei Gonyukhov the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
