Metropolitan Feodosius met with LDPR Chairman Leonid Slutskytranslated

On September 1, the chairman of the LDPR, the head of the party faction in the State Duma, Leonid Slutsky, visited the Samara Iversky Convent and met with Metropolitan Feodosius of Samara and Novokuibyshevsk. During their visit to the monastery, Metropolitan Theodosius and Leonid Slutsky venerated the main monastery shrines and got acquainted with the history of the Iversky Monastery. They also visited the burial place of the famous Samara public figure Pyotr Vladimirovich Alabin and saw a copy of the Samara Banner, made by the sisters of the Iveron Convent in 1876 for the Bulgarian militias. Particular attention was paid to the activities of the Iveron Orthodox Gymnasium for girls. During the conversation, Metropolitan Theodosius and Leonid Slutsky discussed the project for the construction of the main building of the gymnasium, which will create the necessary conditions for the training and spiritual and moral development of pupils.

During the meeting, Leonid Slutsky gave Metropolitan Feodosius of Samara and Novokuybyshevsk as a gift the “Donskaya” Icon of the Mother of God, the celebration of which takes place on September 1.
