Well said. When the state and the church work together to give people a solid foundation, it is better than just words about the economy. Here in Olomouc, I see it similarly - without faith, souls and families fall apart faster.

It's good to hear a leader say the state and the Church have the same mission on spiritual health. Here in Pittsburgh our priest often reminds us that without that foundation the food pantry and the fishing trips for kids don't hold families together for long. Makes you wonder how much more we could do if government and parishes worked together on the everyday stuff.

Yeah, that foundation bit rings true. Our youth group here in Melbourne runs a weekly food drop for a couple of families, but it's the quiet talks after Liturgy that seem to keep most of them coming back month after month.
