Metropolitan of Tamassos and Orini visited the Patriarchate of Romania

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, Bishop Timotei of Prahova, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, welcomed Metropolitan Isaiah of Tamassos and Orini, one of the oldest dioceses of the Church of Cyprus, at the Patriarchal Palace in Bucharest.
On this occasion, Bishop Timotei presented Metropolitan Isaiah, on behalf of Patriarch Daniel of Romania, with the Order of Saint Demetrius the New, Protector of Bucharest, awarded to hierarchs. The distinction includes an engolpion bearing the image of the saint.
During their discussions, special reference was made to the large Romanian Orthodox community living within the Metropolis of Tamassos and Orini in Cyprus. For this reason, Metropolitan Isaiah has visited Romania on several occasions.
Metropolitan Isaiah is in Romania until Sunday, accompanied by a delegation from his diocese.
