Patriarch Daniel's message at the local proclamation of the canonization of St. Magdalene from Mălainita (RO/SRB)translated

His Beatitude Father Patriarch Daniel delivered a message on Sunday at the local proclamation of the canonization of Saint Magdalene, held at the Mălainita Monastery in Serbia.

"Saint Magdalene kept the candle of Orthodoxy burning just when the opposing powers were trying their best to put it out forever."

The Patriarch of Romania emphasized that St. Magdalene from Mălainița is considered the protector of both the Romanian (Vlach) and the Serbian people.

"Her prayer and secret advice not only contributed to the spiritual building of souls, but also contributed to the preservation of a good understanding between Romanians (Vlachs) and Serbs, living together in peace and harmony, above any ethnic or linguistic difference".
