The digital content of the month of August brings to the fore the faces of some saints whose faith, sacrifice and steadfastness have remained benchmarks for generations of Christians.
This month, five Romanian saints are honored, four of whom were canonized by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church in 2025, thus enriching the Orthodox calendar with new models of holiness.
Some of the other saints mentioned this month, such as Saints Radegunda, Eulalia or Empresses Evdochia and Irina, are less known to the public in Romania. However, their lives contain interesting details that can contribute to the enrichment of the general culture, shedding light on female personalities who influenced Christian history and civilization.

Saint Solomoni was the mother of the 7 Saint Maccabee Martyrs, who died because they did not give up their faith in the true God.
Their martyrdom, which took place in the second century BC, is recorded in the Second Book of Maccabees in the Old Testament (II Maccabees 6:7).
