The Putna Monastery will celebrate the historical patron on the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Marytranslated

The Putna Monastery will celebrate the historic feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, between August 14-17.

The program will begin on Friday, when the relics of the Holy Hierarch Iacob Putneanul will be brought from the "Holy Apostles Peter and Paul" Chapel and placed for worship in the canopy inside the monastic settlement. On the same day, from 18:00, the Vigil Service will be celebrated, during which the Prohodle of the Mother of God will be sung.

On the day of the holiday, the first Holy Liturgy will be celebrated at 01:00, in the voivodeship church, and from 07:00 the Akathist of the Mother of God will be celebrated.

The Holy Liturgy will begin at 08:30 and will be performed by Metropolitan Athanasius Fahd of Latakia (Patriarchy of Antioch and the Whole East), Archbishop Calinicus of Suceava and Rădăuțil, Bishop Ieronimo of Dacia Felix and Vicar Bishop Damaschin Dorneanul of the Archdiocese of Suceva and Rădăuțil. In the evening, from 18:00, the Vigil service will be held.
