Summer gathering of Orthodox teetotalers in the Moscow regiontranslated

From July 28 to 30, members of the Blagoveshchenskoe Temperance Society (5 people), led by their confessor, Priest Dmitry Omelyants, took part in the Summer Rally of Orthodox Temperanceists. The event took place in Abramtsevo near Moscow and brought together approximately 150 participants from different regions of Russia and Belarus.

The organizers of this meeting are:

— Coordination Center for Combating Alcoholism and Promoting Sobriety at the Synodal Department for Charity of the Russian Orthodox Church,

— First Moscow Temperance Society,

— Department for the approval of sobriety of the Sergiev Posad diocese.

The event program was created for several groups at once: experienced participants in the sober movement, beginners and children (3 age groups).

Brest residents split up and were able to attend lectures by the following speakers:

— Archpriest Grigory Grigoriev, Doctor of Theology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, psychiatrist, narcologist, psychotherapist, rector of the Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist in Yucca (St. Petersburg Metropolis, Vyborg Diocese);

— Abbess Alexia, abbess of the Vladychny Convent of Serpukhov;

- Archpriest Ilya Shugaev, chairman of the department for the approval of sobriety...
