Two decades ago, a unique publication, “Malmyzh Necropolis,” was published in Vyatskie Polyany, which included information about ancient burials on the territory of the city of Malmyzh. This catalog album was compiled by the rector of the Vyatskopolyansky St. Nicholas Cathedral, Archpriest Alexy Sukhikh. Being the rector of the Epiphany Church in Malmyzh from 1984 to 1987, he scrupulously studied local antiquities, the knowledge of which he decided to share with those who are not indifferent to the history and shrines of his native land. Published in a modest edition, the book immediately became a bibliographic rarity. The same good fate befell the collection “Kilmez Necropolis” that appeared the following year. Often visiting the village of Kilmez, Father Alexy could not help but pay attention to the tombstones and monuments of the former cemetery, located next to the Trinity Church. They compiled the contents of a small book. The priest was also preparing an album about the necropolis of his native city of Kotelnich.
