The book of the prophet Jonah was published for the first time in the Even languagetranslated

For the first time in history, a translation of the biblical Book of the Prophet Jonah was published in the Even language.

The unique project was implemented by the Institute of Bible Translation with the blessing of Archbishop Roman of Yakutsk and Lensk, reports the website of the Yakut diocese.

The book is equipped with illustrations by the Yakut artist Maria Adamova and contains parallel text in Even and Russian, as well as a glossary for explaining difficult words.

In connection with the release of the translation, Bishop Roman congratulated the team of the Institute of Bible Translation, noting the significance of this work for spiritual enlightenment and the preservation of the language of the indigenous peoples of the North.
