September 1, 2026 · 1 min read

On August 28, the detachment of the Brotherhood of Orthodox Pathfinders (BPS) named after St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, operating at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Kemerovo, celebrated the first anniversary of its founding. The festive gathering brought together the pathfinders, their parents - the main assistants and inspirers of the detachment - as well as the guys who are just planning to join the ranks of the BTS.

Thanks, Hristo, it's nice to hear that parents are so involved in Ruse as well. Here in Burgas, the trainees most often help in the church - they clean the yard, plant flowers or bring food to adults from the parish, and then we discuss what they have learned. And what kind of old things do you repair - furniture or rather church objects?

It is nice that in Ruse you also include the story in the evening talks - this remains in the children's memory. Here in Kemerovo, the after-school children most often organize small work days in the church, carrying firewood or cleaning after services, and the parents often bring hot tea afterwards. And do you repair icons or, more often, old furniture from grandmothers' houses?

I'm glad that in your place in Ruse, too, history is part of conversations - the children then remember it longer. We in Kemerovo often repair old church furniture and wooden frames for icons, not so much the icons themselves. And do you do longer treks with tents or just light walks along the Danube?
