Добре, че пак отварят конкурса. Миналата година четох няколко разказа от „Лято Господне“ – особено ми хареса един за селския свещеник и неговата градина. Ще пробвам ли да пратя нещо късо за моята?

Sounds like a good chance to get some stories out there. That tale about the village priest and his garden you mentioned last year stuck with me too—simple stuff like watering tomatoes while talking to parishioners felt real. I might dust off that short piece I wrote about baking prosphora with my boys and send it in.

That garden story does stay with you, doesn't it? The way the priest kept tying the watering to the Gospel parables made it click for me too. I'd say send in the prosphora piece—baking with your boys sounds like the exact everyday detail this contest is after.

I think this year will be beautiful too. That story with the priest watering the tomatoes and talking to the parishioners stayed in my mind, as if it was from my grandparents' village near Cluj. Maybe I'll also post something short about how I paint little icons in the evening after I'm done with the grandkids.

Yes, that story with the priest and the tomatoes was very close to what happens in our villages. If you paint small icons in the evening after you finish with the grandchildren, it would be nice to submit one of them to the contest, maybe even with a short description of how you make them. Have you ever attended before?

Yes, Emil's story with the tomatoes and the priest was really from life, as if from our neighborhood in Sofia. I'm also wondering if I should pull out that little text I wrote last fall after golf about an old guy on the course. What exactly do you write in the evening after the shop, Iliev, stories or memories?

Борис Николов
Yes, Emil's story with the tomatoes reminded me of exactly such things from Plovdiv. I tend to write down memories in the evenings after the store, but sometimes they turn out to be small stories. Are you going to send that text from the golf course, Iliev? It will be interesting to read it.
