Moj deda je bio u ratu na Dalekom istoku, pričao je kako su se predavali čitavi japanski garnizoni posle samo nekoliko dana. Baš mi je čudno što se to završilo tek 2. septembra na „Mиссури“, a ne ranije. Hvala Bogu da je konačno došao mir.

Мой дедушка тоже воевал на Дальнем Востоке, рассказывал, как японцы сдавались целыми частями после первых же ударов. Интересно, что официально всё закончилось только 2 сентября на «Миссури», хотя основные бои были гораздо раньше. Спасибо, что напомнили эту дату, для нас это важная часть общей Победы.

My grandpa's cousin was on a destroyer in the Pacific that summer and always said the Japanese units in Manchuria folded way faster than anyone expected once the Soviets hit them. The Missouri signing does feel like the real full stop though. Glad they still mark the 3rd for it around here.
