On June 23, 2026 in Makhachkala, Acting Head of the Republic of Dagestan F.V. Shchukin chaired a meeting of the Council on Interethnic and Interfaith Relations.

The meeting was preceded by a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks on June 23, 2024 on churches and synagogues in Makhachkala and Derbent.

“Our President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized that interethnic unity serves as the foundation of Russia’s sovereignty,” the head of the region said, addressing the audience. — In the most difficult times, Dagestanis have repeatedly proven the truth of these words in practice. Only together we—representatives of different nations and faiths—can maintain unity and independence.”

A report on the work to implement the Strategy of the State National Policy of the Russian Federation for the period until 2025, as well as plans until 2036, was made by the Acting Minister for National Policy and Religious Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan, Hero of Russia T.U. Abutalimov. According to him, sociological research confirms the high level of interethnic and interfaith harmony in the republic.
