Historical Romanian railway stations: A new philatelic issue capitalizes on Romania's railway heritagetranslated

Romphilatelia and the Romanian Post have put into circulation the new philatelic issue "Historical Romanian Stations", which capitalizes on the Romanian railway heritage.

The series includes three postage stamps, illustrating the historic railway stations in Curtea de Argeș, Iași and Arad, and a "prima zi" envelope, which reproduces the North Railway Station in Bucharest.

The songs of the new show The stamp with the nominal value of 5.50 lei shows the Royal Station in Curtea de Argeș, designed by the Italian architect Giulio Magni. The building was inaugurated on November 27, 1898, the works coordinated by engineer Elie Radu.

The train station in Iași, nicknamed the "Palace of the Doges" in Moldova, is illustrated on the philatelic piece with the value of 6.50 lei. One of the old railway buildings in the country, it was made according to the plans of the Austrian architect Johan De Wachter. Its opening took place partially on June 1, 1870.

The 21 lei postage stamp shows the Arad Railway Station, which was inaugurated on October 25, 1858.

The "prima zi" envelope reproduces the image of the North Station in the Capital, known in the past as Târgoviștei Station. It was opened in 1872, the project belonging to King Carol I.
