FSB investigators brought final charges against the defendants in the case of preparing an assassination attempt on Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov) of Simferopol and Crimea - Sretensky Seminary graduates Denis Popovich and Nikita Ivankovich.

Several more articles were added to the accused, as follows from the card of the First Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction. Mediazona drew attention to her.

Previously, Popovic and Ivankovic were charged with illegal trafficking in explosive devices and preparation for a terrorist attack. Now Popovich is also accused of assisting the enemy, training to carry out a terrorist attack, participation in a terrorist community, unauthorized access to computer information and the use of false documents.

Instead of helping the enemy, Ivankovic was charged with treason. The remaining articles coincide with those indicated by Popovich.

Popovic and Ivankovic were arrested in February 2026. The investigation claims that, on instructions from Ukraine, they prepared the murder of Metropolitan Tikhon and the explosion in the Sretensky Monastery. The defendants in the case do not admit guilt. Their lawyers claimed that their clients were tortured by security forces.
