A prisoner being transferred attacked guards on the Vladikavkaz-Adler train in Kabardino-Balkaria, RBC, Interfax and TASS report with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies.

According to sources, the prisoner, who was being taken to the toilet, snatched a weapon from the guard and opened fire on the FSIN employees. One of them later died on the way to the hospital, and three more of his colleagues were injured.

The prisoner himself was killed by return fire, the sources noted.

Later, the information from sources of RBC, TASS and Interfax was officially confirmed by the Federal Penitentiary Service. “While being escorted by train in the area of ​​Murtazovo station, one of the convicts, while being taken to the toilet, committed a single attack on a convoy employee, and in the process took possession of his service weapon. As a result of the attack, one employee was killed and three more were injured,” the department said.

The initial reports about the incident, which were distributed by Ren-TV and the Telegram channel 112, said that there was a prisoner riot on the train. According to sources from 112 and Ren-TV, they killed one guard and took his three wounded colleagues hostage.
