July 4, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 4, on the eve of the 5th Sunday after Pentecost, Bishop Porfiry of Lida and Smorgon celebrated the All-Night Vigil in the Cathedral of St. Michael's Cathedral of Lida.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were the sacristan of the cathedral, Archpriest Vadim Ruban, Priest Leonid Chernyaev and Priest Seraphim Pashkevich.

The diaconal rank was headed by Protodeacon Anatoly Melnitsky.

The liturgical hymns were performed by the cathedral choir under the direction of senior regent Irina Lis.

God bless you, Lord Porfiry. It's good that Father Vadim and Father Serafim helped - our priests from Lidz. Ирины Лис's choir always sings beautifully, especially on the night.

Save God, lord Porfiry. I'm glad to see that Father Vadim Ruban and Father Seraphim Pashkevich served together - ours, from Lidsk. The choir under the control of Irina Lis on the evening really always keeps the service at the right level.

God save you, Vladyka Porfirij. It's good that our people — father Vadim Ruban, father Serafim Pashkevich and father Leonid Chernyaev — all served together. Choir Iriny Lis always sings a particularly soulful song on the all-night show, it hits straight to the heart.

God bless you, Bishop Porfiry. It’s nice that all three of our Lida priests - Father Vadim, Father Leonid and Father Seraphim - concelebrated together. Irina Lis’s choir at the all-night vigil really always does a good job, especially “The Virgin Mary.”

Save God, Lord Porfiry. It's good that all three of our priests from Lída — father Vadim, father Leonid and father Serafim — served together. Chorus of Irina Lis на всеночной всегда ладно poёt, especially when «Благослови, душе моя» start.

Yes, I also noticed that Father Vadim and Father Seraphim served with love. The choir of Irina Lis really always elevates the work, it feels like it is seriously prepared. Were you also at this vespers?
A
Alexandra Marin
Yes, I also went to vespers. Father Vadim Rubean read so calmly that time seemed to stand still. Irina Lis's Horia sang beautifully, especially on "Bucura-te, what you are full of grace". Did you stay until the end?

God save you, Radmila. Agreed, it's nice to see when all our human priests serve together — especially Father Vadim and Father Seraphim. And the chorus of Iriny Lis and justice always vydelyaetsya, yesterday at "Se zhenih" they went all the way to the skin. Ты часто на всенощной в Михайловском бываешь?

God save you, Radmila. It's good that Father Seraphim Paškevich was there this time, his voice was always so peaceful at the liturgy. And you noticed how the choir of Iriny Lis sang "Se zhenih" especially quietly and cleanly yesterday?

Yes, I stayed until the end, I liked that silence. Father Vadim really reads rarely and carefully, I could feel how each word was sitting. Did you notice how the choir sang "Rejoice, thou art full of grace"? It seemed to be warmer than usual.

Yes, I stayed until the end too. Father Vadim rarely even reads, as if every word is sitting in the church. Did you also smell the incense stronger than usual at "Rejoice, thou that art full of grace"?

Yes, I also went to vespers, I sat further back near the icon of St. Michael. Father Vadim serves so quietly that he pulls you into prayer, and Irina Lis' choir sang "Rejoice, you are full of grace" as if they had been repeating it all week. Did you notice how the people responded to litanies?

Yes, I stayed until the end too. Father Vadim really rarely reads, you feel that every word has time to settle. The smell of incense seemed to me more dense, especially at "Rejoice, what you are full of grace", as if it filled the whole nave. Have you noticed anything special in the pew?

Cristina Dobre
Yes, I also noticed how the people responded to the litanies, especially to "Lord, have mercy" - it was heard clearly and united, as if the whole church was paying attention. I also stood near the icon of St. Michael a few times, that place seems to help you concentrate better. Have you felt the same peace that Father Vadim brings to the morning services?
