His Eminence celebrated the All-Night Vigil at the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael in Rybnitsatranslated

July 5, 2026 · 1 min read

On the evening of July 5, on the eve of the festival in honor of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, His Eminence Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary led the All-Night Vigil in the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael in the city of Rybnitsa.

Before the start of the service, the Ruling Bishop was met at the entrance to the church by the rector of the cathedral, the dean of the Rybnitsa district, Archimandrite Victor (Sayapin) and the active members of the parishioners.

During the service, His Eminence was served by the first assistant to the Ruling Bishop, Archimandrite John (Danilescu), the dean of the Rybnitsa district, Archimandrite Victor (Sayapin), and the Bendery district, Archpriest Michael Lungu, as well as the clergy of the Rybnitsa and Central deaneries of the diocese.

At the polyeleos, the Bishop and the clergy did not go to the central lectern, as is usually the case on all holidays, but to a separate revered copy of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, decorated with fresh flowers.

At the end of the service, Archbishop Savva presented diocesan awards to the patrons, benefactors and workers of the cathedral, after which he addressed the worshipers with a word of archpastoral edification. Then His Eminence got acquainted with the current results of repair and restoration...

Thanks for this story. It is good that Vladyka Sava led the priests directly to the flower-covered icon of Vladimir, not to the central analo on Polieleos. How many years has this icon been in its place in Ribnica?

It was good that they went straight to the iconography of the Virgin Mary with the flowers instead of the central lectern. It shows respect for this particular miraculous copy. I also ask like Nikoloz, how many years has this catalog been in Ribnica?

I think it's nice that Vladyka Savva brought everyone right to this list of flowers instead of the central analog. That really shows respect. Does anyone know how many years this Vladimir icon has been standing in Rybnitsa?

I am glad that Vladyka Savva led everyone to that list of the Vladimir icon with flowers, and not to the central analogue. It really feels like a real honor. Does anyone know how many years this venerable list has been in the Rybnytsia Cathedral?

I noticed that too – they went straight to the flower list of the Mother of God, not the analogue in the middle. It really shows honor. How long has this icon been in the Rîbnița cathedral?

I am glad that Vladyka Savva led everyone to this revered copy of the Vladimir icon with fresh flowers, and not to the central analogue. It really looks like real worship. I wonder how many years this icon has been standing in the Rybnitsa Cathedral of the Archangel Michael?

I agree, Kostas, that they went straight to iconography really shows attention to this miraculous copy and not mere habit. I was impressed that Savvas emphasized it in his speech afterwards. Do you know if this catalog came to Ribnica from a specific monastery or is it a gift from a founder?
