Monumental cross dedicated to the Heroes of the Nation in Alexandru cel Bun, Iașitranslated

The Most Reverend Father Nichifor Botoșaneanul, Vicar Bishop of the Archdiocese of Iasi, consecrated on Monday, on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a monumental cross 14 meters high, built in Alexandru cel Bun, Vlădeni commune, Iasi county.

The monument was built by the community of the Parish "Saint Hierarch Spiridon" and "Saints Constantine and Elena" from Alexandru cel Bun as a tribute to the Romanian heroes. On this occasion, a memorial service was also held for the heroes of the village who sacrificed their lives for faith, freedom and the defense of the homeland.

His Holiness Father Nichifor appreciated the initiative, emphasizing that the Holy Cross is both a sign of Christ's victory and a testimony of gratitude to the ancestors who gave their lives for the freedom and dignity of the Romanian people.

The hierarch urged the faithful to preserve the memory of the heroes and to pass on to the younger generations respect for their sacrifice.
