Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) pastor visits WCC for spirituality, contemplation, and reflection

Rev. Dr Deborah Niederer Saxon, an educator and pastor in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and her husband, John Saxon, visited the World Council of Churches (WCC), staying at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey.

Deborah is affiliate professor of theology at the Christian Theological Seminary, and author of The Care of the Self in Early Christian Texts.

Deborah enjoyed waking up at Bossey with the sounds of the birds coming in through the window. She said she appreciated “ both visiting the chapel at Bossey and seeing the beautiful windows from the brothers at Taiz é , and many beautiful icons, and just being in that very peaceful place.”

Sounds like a peaceful spot. That 12th-century tower and the Taizé windows would make waking up to the birds even better. Nice to see folks from the Disciples of Christ taking time there.

The echo of birds in the morning at Bossey sounds wonderful. The old tower from the 12th century and the windows from Taizé must give a special quietness. I'm glad Deborah brought this up.
