Thanks to Bishop Evgeni for reminding me. Yesterday someone wrote to me from the "diocese" and asked me to send personal information for some "help". I blocked immediately. Be careful, people, they really do disguise themselves.

Got scammed myself last year when some guy pretending to be from the diocese asked for my phone number "to confirm a donation." Blocked him fast but it was a pain. Thanks for the reminder, Metropolitan Evgeny — these folks are getting slick. Stay sharp, everyone.

Yeah, I had a similar one last summer where the "church office" guy wanted me to switch to a different payment link for my tithe. Blocked him right away too. Good on the Metropolitan for putting this out there — these scams are getting too common.

Yeah, that "switch the payment link" trick is sneaky — mine tried the same thing with a fake parish email last fall. I always call the church office on the real number now just to double-check. Glad you caught it quick too.
