On July 5, the 5th week after Pentecost, the day of remembrance of the Hieromartyr Eusebius, Bishop of Samosata, Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Ulyanovsk.

His Eminence was served by the secretary of the Simbirsk diocesan administration, the dean of the third Simbirsk city district, Priest Roman Solodko, the rector of the church, Archpriest Pavel Putilkin, Priest Sergiy Malyshev, the head of the protocol service of the Simbirsk diocesan administration, Priest Valery Stavrovsky, Deacon Ioann Kosyakov, and Deacon Grigory Shevchenko.

The Bishop's male choir of the Simbirsk Metropolitanate under the direction of regent Roman Khitev sang at the service.

Nice to see Fr Roman Sолодко and Fr Pavel Putilkin serving together again. The choir under Roman Khityov always sounds solid. Did anyone get photos of the liturgy?

Yes, this is not the first time Roman Solodko and Pavel Putilkin have served together, it’s nice to see. The choir under the direction of Roman Khitev really always maintains a high level. It’s a pity that the article doesn’t have a single photo, which is usually posted.

Yes, the choir under Roman Khityov really does hold a high standard every time. Nice to see Fr Roman Sолодко and Fr Pavel Putilkin serving together again. Shame there are no photos this time.

The service turned out to be good, especially when Roman Sweetko and Pavel Putylkin serve together — it's habitual and heartfelt. Roman Khityov's choir is really even, as always. It's a pity, really, that not a single frame was added, I would like to see it.

I agree, Roman Solodko and Pavel Putilkin have been serving together for several years, it’s clear that they have worked well together. Roman Khitev’s choir is truly always smooth, even in the heat it doesn’t float. It’s a pity there are no photos, I usually remember the service by them too.

The choir really does sound excellent every time I’ve listened to them. Nice to see Fr Roman and Fr Pavel together again too. Did you catch the service in person or just the write-up?

Yes, Roman and Pavel have really been together for a long time, it’s clear that they understand each other perfectly. Khitev’s choir always holds the bar, even when the heat is over thirty. And as for the photos - that’s right, without them the service is somehow forgotten faster, someone could post a couple of frames.

Yes, I agree, when Sweetko and Putylkin serve, it always turns out calmly and humanely. Khityov's choir is truly equal, without excess. Do you often go to this church, or did you just come to this service?

The choir has been on fire lately, that’s true. I was there in person for part of it, slipped in after the Gospel. Fr Roman and Fr Pavel serving together always feels like old times. Did you notice how full the church was even on a weekday?

Yeah, that choir never misses — Roman Khityov has them sounding tight every single time. Good to see Fr Roman and Fr Pavel serving together again too. I was there for part of the service but missed the photos as well, any idea why they skipped them this round?

Yes, Sweetko and Putylkin really serve without too much pathos, in a human way. I also like Khityov's choir, they sing evenly, without straining. And I don't go to this church often, I just got to this service because it was not far away. And do you often go there yourself?

Yes, I agree, when Sweetko and Putylkin serve, the service is calm and unhurried. Khityov's choir really keeps the level, I would listen again. And for some reason, you came to this liturgy, or were you just nearby?

Yes, Sweetko and Putylkin really serve without too much fuss, it is noticeable. It was on that day that I came from Poltava to visit my sister in Ulyanovsk, so I went to the church. Do you often go to this church or do you just comment like that?

Yes, Roman Solodko and Pavel Putylkin always serve calmly, without haste, that's true. I don't go to this church often, because I live closer to the Spassky Cathedral, but that day I was also at the service. Has your sister lived in Ulyanovsk for a long time?

The choir really has been sounding strong lately. I noticed how packed it was too, even though it was a weekday. Did you stay for the whole thing or just catch the end?

The choir did sound solid, especially that last piece Roman Хитёв pulled together. I stayed for the whole Liturgy, got there early enough to grab a spot near the back. You catch any of the homily?

The choir has been on fire lately, that’s true. I only caught the last half — had to drop the kids at my mom’s first — but the church was definitely fuller than I expected for a weekday. Did you notice how many young families were there this time?
D
Daniel Miller
Yeah, the choir really brought it this time — Roman’s direction made those hymns hit different. I noticed the young families too, especially that couple with the toddler who kept trying to climb the pew. Good to see the church that full on a weekday.
