The dean of the Oshmyany district held a conversation at a children's summer camptranslated

July 4, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 3, an unusual meeting was held at the Druzhba children's health camp in the Oshmyany district. Archpriest Georgy Mukha came to the guys to talk about the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and the event that changed the history of our country - the Baptism of Rus'.

The children were shown a cartoon about how Prince Vladimir chose faith for his people, how he was baptized himself and baptized the people of Kiev in the waters of the Dnieper.

The priest drew the children's attention to an important thing: Vladimir did not immediately become a saint. At first he was a pagan, a warrior, but faith changed his heart. He became merciful, built temples, took care of the poor. And it was this rebirth that helped him bring all of Rus' to God.

The children really liked the cartoon. Vivid pictures helped them imagine how everything happened more than a thousand years ago. Many children learned that it was thanks to Prince Vladimir that writing, schools and the first stone churches appeared in Rus'.

The children and teachers heartily thanked the priest for the interesting story. The teachers noted that such meetings are very important - they help children not only remember historical facts, but feel the connection between different eras.
