Library hour “Protection of the Queen of Heaven”translated

On October 2, in the spiritual and educational center of the Polotsk diocese, a library hour “The Intercession of the Queen of Heaven” was held for students of grade 4 “B” of the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 1 of Polotsk”. The librarian of the parish of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Novopolotsk, Olga Bakunovich, was invited to the event.

At the beginning of the library hour, the Center's methodologist Valentina Ivanovna Treshchenok told schoolchildren about why Christians call the Most Holy Theotokos the Queen of Heaven and venerate them above all angels and saints.

The parish librarian Olga Bakunovich introduced the children to the holidays established in the Orthodox Church in honor of the Most Holy Theotokos, as well as the traditions of celebrating the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in Belarus. The story was accompanied by slides of a colorful presentation. The event ended with a thematic quiz.
