The Battle of Lipnic, commemorated in northern Bessarabia: Metropolitan Antonie commemorated the soldiers of St. Stephen the Greattranslated

The Battle of Lipnic was commemorated on Thursday, in the north of the Republic of Moldova. On this occasion, Metropolitan Antony of Bessarabia officiated the Holy Liturgy and the Parastas service for the troops of Saint Stephen the Great who fell in the fight against the Tatars.

The demonstrations started in the church in Lipnic. The event was attended by members of the community, representatives of the local administration and Romanians settled in France.

After the Holy Liturgy, the clergy and believers moved to the center of the town, where the memorial service was held. The commemorative moment took place on the 556th anniversary of the battle.

His Holiness Father Antonie highlighted the role of faith in the Moldovan ruler's victories, showing that they were linked to the courage of the soldiers, thoughtful leadership, the guidance of the clergy, much prayer and steadfast trust in God's help.

At the same time, His Eminence urged those present to keep alive the memory of those who sacrificed themselves for the country and to pass on to the younger generation the knowledge of history and respect for the ancestors.
