The archpastor met with the author of a book about participants in the Afghan eventstranslated

At the Tara diocesan administration, a meeting was held between His Eminence Vincent, Bishop of Tara and Tyukalinsk, with Alexander Vladimirovich Bankrutenko, one of the compilers of the book “Afghanistan in the fate of Tarchans.”

The publication was published with the support of the Ministry of Internal Policy of the Omsk Region and with co-financing by the Presidential Grants Fund as part of the project of the public organization "Historical and Local Lore Center "Tarsky Uyezd". The book contains biographical information about the Tarchans - participants in the fighting in Afghanistan in 1979-1989.

Issues of preserving the historical memory of fellow countrymen who honorably fulfilled their military duty outside the Fatherland were raised. The archpastor noted the importance of such publications for the education of the younger generation and emphasized that the memory of heroes, regardless of their future fate, is a moral duty of society.

At the end of the meeting, Alexander Vladimirovich donated a copy of the book “Afghanistan in the fate of Tarchans” to the library of the Tara diocese.
