Archbishop Stefan took part in the ceremony of naming the diesel locomotive after Alexander Udodovtranslated

On July 27, 2026, a ceremony was held in Gomel to name the diesel locomotive TEP70BS-084 after Alexander Petrovich Udodov, an Honored Transport Worker of the Republic of Belarus, who for many years headed the Gomel branch of the Belarusian Railway.

The event, held at the site near the Steam Locomotive monument, was attended by His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin.

The ceremony was attended by the head of the state association "Belarusian Railway" Valery Emelyanovich Verenich, deputy head of the Belarusian Railway Pyotr Vasilyevich Stotsky, head of the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Gomel Branch of the Belarusian Railway" Sergei Valentinovich Yaroshevich, employees and veterans of the enterprise, relatives and friends of Alexander Petrovich.

Addressing those gathered, Archbishop Stefan noted the significant contribution of Alexander Udodov to the development of railway transport in Belarus.
