Archbishop Stefan took part in a memorial meeting at the Eternal Flame in Gomeltranslated

A rally was held at the Eternal Flame in Gomel on the eve of National Unity Day in memory of the heroes who fell in the Great Patriotic War. The event was attended by His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin.

The rally brought together the leadership of the region and the city, representatives of the deputy corps, public organizations, clergy and youth.

Participants honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence and laid wreaths and flowers at the monument. The commemorative event ended with a three-shot cannon salvo - a military salute in honor of the fallen.

An appeal to the memory of the defenders of the Motherland became part of the events for National Unity Day, recalling the responsibility for preserving peace and passing on historical memory to future generations.
