Archbishop Sava celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Crosstranslated

On July 21, on the day of remembrance of the appearance of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos in the city of Kazan, which happened in 1579, His Eminence Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary led a service in the capital’s Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. During the service, the Most Reverend Bishop was co-served by the deans of the Dubossary and Bendery districts, Archpriests Georgy Lisovsky and Mikhail Lungu, as well as the council of clergy. At the end of the service, glorification was performed before the Kazan Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, after which the Ruling Bishop addressed the parishioners with words of archpastoral teaching. The appearance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God became one of the greatest signs of God's mercy to the Russian Church. For centuries, before this holy image, Orthodox Christians offered fervent prayers during years of difficult trials, wars and national disasters, invariably receiving the help and intercession of the Queen of Heaven. The Bishop called on believers to resort to the Most Holy Theotokos with the same hope, strengthening their lives with prayer, repentance and fulfillment of the Gospel commandments.
