Archbishop John performed a prayer service for the peace and well-being of the Belarusian people in the Brest Fortresstranslated

On July 3, 2026, on the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 82nd anniversary of the liberation of our country from the Nazi invaders, with the blessing of His Eminence Benjamin, Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavsky, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, thanksgiving prayers were performed to the Savior, the Most Holy Theotokos in the churches and monasteries of the Belarusian Orthodox Church and to all Belarusian saints for granting our people victory, peace and prosperity, and prayers were offered “for all those who laid down their lives for the Fatherland and our people during the Great Patriotic War, those who were martyred in captivity, died from serious wounds, hunger and deprivation.”
Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin led the service in the garrison church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Brest Fortress.
His Eminence was served by: the rector of the garrison church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Brest Fortress, the chairman of the department of the Brest diocese for interaction with the armed forces and all military formations of the Republic of Belarus, Archpriest Vitaly Khonovets; clergy of the Brest diocese.
