Archbishop Varsanufie on Saint Elijah: He reminds that the true renewal of the world begins with that of the hearttranslated

Archbishop Varsanufie of Râmnic emphasized on Monday, about Saint Ilia, that "he reminds that the true renewal of the world begins with the renewal of the heart and that any work finds its power in communion with God".

His Eminence officiated the Holy Liturgy at the Pahomie Monastery in Vâlcea county, which celebrated its patron saint.

His Holiness Father Varsanufie highlighted the relevance of the model offered by the Holy Prophet Elijah, whom he presented as a confessor of the faith, in whose person "the prophetic call became the expression of communion with God".

Love for God The Archbishop of Râmnic showed that the work of Saint Elias was not determined by the spirit of confrontation, but by love for God and for people.

"The prayer of the prophet on Mount Carmel should not only be seen as a demonstration of divine power, but as a pedagogy of faith, through which God discovers that true worship cannot be separated from fidelity to the truth."
