Archbishop Offers Thanks to Supporters of “SOS” Month

CHICAGO, IL [DOM] – The Diocese of the Midwest has taken the month of September to highlight the 14 seminarians of the Diocese and the sacrifices that they have made to serve the Church. Throughout the past several weeks, parishes of the DOM have also raise awareness of the financial needs to help support these important vocations within the Diocese.
This past Sunday, September 27 , served as “Support Our Seminarians” Sunday, in which parishes reflected on the ministry of the diocesan seminarians and held special collections to support their education and living expenses.
His Eminence Archbishop Daniel of Chicago and the Diocese of the Midwest expressed his gratitude to the clergy and faithful who took time to pray for and financially support the seminarians.
“The support that we offer these students who have left their homes and jobs to serve Christ and His Church is very important to me. Not only are these individuals part of our diocesan spiritual family, but many of them will be future leaders in our Diocese. In offering this financial assistance, we and not only supporting their current efforts, but we are also investing in the future of our local church.
