Saint Moses the Ethiopian is one of the saints who always impressed me with his radical change. He was a robber, became a hermit in the desert of Scetis and died old, killed by the barbarians together with his brothers. Today, when I read the calendar, I think about how little it takes for us to change our lives, if we really decide to.

Saint Moses even shows that life can take a total turn, from potter to hermit. When I read about him, I always think of how he fought that old covetousness until old age. Do you have any particular prayer that you say when you want such a great change, Ilie?

Yes, Elijah, his radical change from robber to hermit is really impressive. I often think about how he received that beating from the old hermit to learn humility, not just prayer. Have you ever tried reading the Lives of the Fathers to see more details about Scetis?
