On September 12, 2026, in St. Petersburg, on the day of the transfer of the relics of the blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky, a citywide procession will take place - a large religious procession. The motto of the procession: “FAITH. TRADITIONS. UNITY".

The procession will take place along Nevsky Prospect - from the Kazan Cathedral to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, where the relics of the holy prince have been kept for more than 300 years, reports the website Patriarchia.ru.

Two shrines will be carried in the procession:

The miraculous Kazan Icon of the Mother of God

Ark with a particle of the recently discovered relics of the blessed Prince Dimitry Donskoy

The procession will consist of three parts:

11:00 – Large citywide religious procession after the service in the Kazan Cathedral along Nevsky Prospect to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra

11:50 – Small religious procession with the relics of Saint Prince Alexander Nevsky to the square in front of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra

After the liturgy in the Annunciation Cathedral in Shlisselburg and a prayer service in the Oreshek fortress - Water procession along the Neva from the Oreshek fortress to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra

12:00 – Meeting of three prayer processions on the square in front of the Lavra and a festive prayer service
