¹⁶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.

¹⁷ And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

²⁴ And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.

²⁵ And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

²⁶ But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.

²⁷ And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.

²⁸ And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.

²⁹ And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’s people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

²³ Vosotros también, hijos de Sión, alegraos y gozaos en Jehová vuestro Dios; porque os ha dado la primera lluvia arregladamente, y hará descender sobre vosotros lluvia temprana y tardía como al principio.

²⁴ Y las eras se henchirán de trigo, y los lagares rebosarán de vino y aceite.

²⁵ Y os restituiré los años que comió la oruga, la langosta, el pulgón, y el revoltón; mi grande ejército que envié contra vosotros.

²⁶ Y comeréis hasta saciaros, y alabaréis el nombre de Jehová vuestro Dios, el cual hizo maravillas con vosotros: y nunca jamás será mi pueblo avergonzado.

²⁷ Y conoceréis que en medio de Israel estoy yo, y que yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios, y no hay otro: y mi pueblo nunca jamás será avergonzado.

²⁸ Y será que después de esto, derramaré mi Espíritu sobre toda carne, y profetizarán vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas; vuestros viejos soñarán sueños, y vuestros mancebos verán visiones.

²⁹ Y aun también sobre los siervos y sobre las siervas derramaré mi Espíritu en aquellos días.

³⁰ Y daré prodigios en el cielo y en la tierra, sangre, y fuego, y columnas de humo.

³¹ El sol se tornará en tinieblas, y la luna en sangre, antes que venga el día grande y espantoso de Jehová.

³² Y será que cualquiera que invocare el nombre de Jehová, será salvo: porque en el monte de Sión y en Jerusalem habrá salvación, como Jehová ha dicho, y en los que quedaren, á los cuales Jehová habrá llamado.

²⁴ Y yo os tomaré de las gentes, y os juntaré de todas las tierras, y os traeré á vuestro país.

²⁵ Y esparciré sobre vosotros agua limpia, y seréis limpiados de todas vuestras inmundicias; y de todos vuestros ídolos os limpiaré.

²⁶ Y os daré corazón nuevo, y pondré espíritu nuevo dentro de vosotros; y quitaré de vuestra carne el corazón de piedra, y os daré corazón de carne.

²⁷ Y pondré dentro de vosotros mi espíritu, y haré que andéis en mis mandamientos, y guardéis mis derechos, y los pongáis por obra.

²⁸ Y habitaréis en la tierra que dí á vuestros padres; y vosotros me seréis por pueblo, y yo seré á vosotros por Dios.

¹⁹ Y como fué tarde aquel día, el primero de la semana, y estando las puertas cerradas donde los discípulos estaban juntos por miedo de los Judíos, vino Jesús, y púsose en medio, y díjoles: Paz á vosotros.

²⁰ Y como hubo dicho esto, mostróles las manos y el costado. Y los discípulos se gozaron viendo al Señor.

²¹ Entonces les dijo Jesús otra vez: Paz á vosotros: como me envió el Padre, así también yo os envío.

²² Y como hubo dicho esto, sopló, y díjoles: Tomad el Espíritu Santo:

²³ A los que remitiereis los pecados, les son remitidos: á quienes los retuviereis, serán retenidos.

¹ Y COMO se cumplieron los días de Pentecostés, estaban todos unánimes juntos;

² Y de repente vino un estruendo del cielo como de un viento recio que corría, el cual hinchió toda la casa donde estaban sentados;

³ Y se les aparecieron lenguas repartidas, como de fuego, que se asentó sobre cada uno de ellos.

⁴ Y fueron todos llenos del Espíritu Santo, y comenzaron á hablar en otras lenguas, como el Espíritu les daba que hablasen.

⁵ Moraban entonces en Jerusalem Judíos, varones religiosos, de todas las naciones debajo del cielo.

⁶ Y hecho este estruendo, juntóse la multitud; y estaban confusos, porque cada uno les oía hablar su propia lengua.

⁷ Y estaban atónitos y maravillados, diciendo: He aquí ¿no son "Galileos todos estos que hablan?

⁸ ¿Cómo, pues, les oímos nosotros hablar cada uno en nuestra lengua en que somos nacidos?

⁹ Partos y Medos, y Elamitas, y los que habitamos en Mesopotamia, en Judea y en Capadocia, en el Ponto y en Asia,

¹⁰ En Phrygia y Pamphylia, en Egipto y en las partes de Africa que está de la otra parte de Cirene, y Romanos extranjeros, tanto Judíos como convertidos,

¹¹ Cretenses y Arabes, les oímos hablar en nuestras lenguas las maravillas de Dios.

³⁷ In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

³⁸ He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

³⁹ (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

⁴⁰ Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

⁴¹ Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

⁴² Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

⁴³ So there was a division among the people because of him.

⁴⁴ And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

⁴⁵ Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

⁴⁶ The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

⁴⁷ Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?

⁴⁸ Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?

⁴⁹ But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

⁵⁰ Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)

⁵¹ Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

⁵² They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

¹² Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

¹ Y COMO fué nacido Jesús en Bethlehem de Judea en días del rey Herodes, he aquí unos magos vinieron del oriente á Jerusalem,

² Diciendo: ¿Dónde está el Rey de los Judíos, que ha nacido? porque su estrella hemos visto en el oriente, y venimos á adorarle.

³ Y oyendo esto el rey Herodes, se turbó, y toda Jerusalem con él.

⁴ Y convocados todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas del pueblo, les preguntó dónde había de nacer el Cristo.

⁵ Y ellos le dijeron: En Bethlehem de Judea; porque así está escrito por el profeta:

⁶ Y tú, Bethlehem, de tierra de Judá, No eres muy pequeña entre los príncipes de Judá; Porque de ti saldrá un guiador, Que apacentará á mi pueblo Israel.

⁷ Entonces Herodes, llamando en secreto á los magos, entendió de ellos diligentemente el tiempo del aparecimiento de la estrella;

⁸ Y enviándolos á Bethlehem, dijo: Andad allá, y preguntad con diligencia por el niño; y después que le hallareis, hacédmelo saber, para que yo también vaya y le adore.

⁹ Y ellos, habiendo oído al rey, se fueron: y he aquí la estrella que habían visto en el oriente, iba delante de ellos, hasta que llegando, se puso sobre donde estaba el niño.

¹⁰ Y vista la estrella, se regocijaron con muy grande gozo.

¹¹ Y entrando en la casa, vieron al niño con su madre María, y postrándose, le adoraron; y abriendo sus tesoros, le ofrecieron dones, oro, é incienso y mirra.

¹² Y siendo avisados por revelación en sueños que no volviesen á Herodes, se volvieron á su tierra por otro camino.

¹³ Y partidos ellos, he aquí el ángel del Señor aparece en sueños á José, diciendo: Levántate, y toma al niño y á su madre, y huye á Egipto, y estáte allá hasta que yo te lo diga; porque ha de acontecer, que Herodes buscará al niño para matarlo.

¹⁴ Y él despertando, tomó al niño y á su madre de noche, y se fué á Egipto;

¹⁵ Y estuvo allá hasta la muerte de Herodes: para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el Señor, por el profeta que dijo: De Egipto llamé á mi Hijo.

¹⁶ Herodes entonces, como se vió burlado de los magos, se enojó mucho, y envió, y mató á todos los niños que había en Bethlehem y en todos sus términos, de edad de dos años abajo, conforme al tiempo que había entendido de los magos.

¹⁷ Entonces fué cumplido lo que se había dicho por el profeta Jeremías, que dijo:

¹⁸ Voz fué oída en Ramá, Grande lamentación, lloro y gemido: Rachêl que llora sus hijos, Y no quiso ser consolada, porque perecieron.

¹⁹ Mas muerto Herodes, he aquí el ángel del Señor aparece en sueños á José en Egipto,

²⁰ Diciendo: Levántate, y toma al niño y á su madre, y vete á tierra de Israel; que muertos son los que procuraban la muerte del niño.

²¹ Entonces él se levantó, y tomó al niño y á su madre, y se vino á tierra de Israel.

²² Y oyendo que Archelao reinaba en Judea en lugar de Herodes su padre, temió ir allá: mas amonestado por revelación en sueños, se fué á las partes de Galilea.

²³ Y vino, y habitó en la ciudad que se llama Nazaret: para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por los profetas, que había de ser llamado Nazareno.
