⁹ Congréguense á una todas las gentes, y júntense todos los pueblos: ¿quién de ellos hay que nos dé nuevas de esto, y que nos haga oir las cosas primeras? Presenten sus testigos, y justifíquense; oigan, y digan: Verdad.

¹⁰ Vosotros sois mis testigos, dice Jehová, y mi siervo que yo escogí; para que me conozcáis y creáis, y entendáis que yo mismo soy; antes de mí no fué formado Dios, ni lo será después de mí.

¹¹ Yo, yo Jehová, y fuera de mí no hay quien salve.

¹² Yo anuncié, y salvé, é hice oir, y no hubo entre vosotros extraño. Vosotros pues sois mis testigos, dice Jehová, que yo soy Dios.

¹³ Aun antes que hubiera día, yo era; y no hay quien de mi mano libre: si yo hiciere, ¿quién lo estorbará?

¹⁴ Así dice Jehová, Redentor vuestro, el Santo de Israel: Por vosotros envié á Babilonia, é hice descender fugitivos todos ellos, y clamor de Caldeos en las naves.

¹ But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them.

² In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure is taken for misery,

³ And their going from us to be utter destruction: but they are in peace.

⁴ For though they be punished in the sight of men, yet is their hope full of immortality.

⁵ And having been a little chastised, they shall be greatly rewarded: for God proved them, and found them worthy for himself.

⁶ As gold in the furnace hath he tried them, and received them as a burnt offering.

⁷ And in the time of their visitation they shall shine, and run to and fro like sparks among the stubble.

⁸ They shall judge the nations, and have dominion over the people, and their Lord shall reign for ever.

⁹ They that put their trust in him shall understand the truth: and such as be faithful in love shall abide with him: for grace and mercy is to his saints, and he hath care for his elect.

¹⁵ But the righteous live for evermore; their reward also is with the Lord, and the care of them is with the most High.

¹⁶ Therefore shall they receive a glorious kingdom, and a beautiful crown from the Lord’s hand: for with his right hand shall he cover them, and with his arm shall he protect them.

¹⁷ He shall take to him his jealousy for complete armour, and make the creature his weapon for the revenge of his enemies.

¹⁸ He shall put on righteousness as a breastplate, and true judgment instead of an helmet.

¹⁹ He shall take holiness for an invincible shield.

²⁰ His severe wrath shall he sharpen for a sword, and the world shall fight with him against the unwise.

²¹ Then shall the right aiming thunderbolts go abroad; and from the clouds, as from a well drawn bow, shall they fly to the mark.

²² And hailstones full of wrath shall be cast as out of a stone bow, and the water of the sea shall rage against them, and the floods shall cruelly drown them.

²³ Yea, a mighty wind shall stand up against them, and like a storm shall blow them away: thus iniquity shall lay waste the whole earth, and ill dealing shall overthrow the thrones of the mighty.

¹ Hear therefore, O ye kings, and understand; learn, ye that be judges of the ends of the earth.

² Give ear, ye that rule the people, and glory in the multitude of nations.

³ For power is given you of the Lord, and sovereignty from the Highest, who shall try your works, and search out your counsels.

¹² Mas antes de todas estas cosas os echarán mano, y perseguirán, entregándoos á las sinagogas y á las cárceles, siendo llevados á los reyes y á los gobernadores por causa de mi nombre.

¹³ Y os será para testimonio.

¹⁴ Poned pues en vuestros corazones no pensar antes cómo habéis de responder:

¹⁵ Porque yo os daré boca y sabiduría, á la cual no podrán resistir ni contradecir todos los que se os opondrán.

¹⁶ Mas seréis entregados aun de vuestros padres, y hermanos, y parientes, y amigos; y matarán á algunos de vosotros.

¹⁷ Y seréis aborrecidos de todos por causa de mi nombre.

¹⁸ Mas un pelo de vuestra cabeza no perecerá.

¹⁹ En vuestra paciencia poseeréis vuestras almas.

¹ JUDAS, siervo de Jesucristo, y hermano de Jacobo, á los llamados, santificados en Dios Padre, y conservados en Jesucristo:

² Misericordia, y paz, y amor os sean multiplicados.

³ Amados, por la gran solicitud que tenía de escribiros de la común salud, me ha sido necesario escribiros amonestándoos que contendáis eficazmente por la fe que ha sido una vez dada á los santos.

⁴ Porque algunos hombres han entrado encubiertamente, los cuales desde antes habían estado ordenados para esta condenación, hombres impíos, convirtiendo la gracia de nuestro Dios en disolución, y negando á Dios que solo es el que tiene dominio, y á nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

⁵ Os quiero pues amonestar, ya que alguna vez habéis sabido esto, que el Señor habiendo salvado al pueblo de Egipto, después destruyó á los que no creían:

⁶ Y á los ángeles que no guardaron su dignidad, mas dejaron su habitación, los ha reservado debajo de oscuridad en prisiones eternas hasta el juicio del gran día:

⁷ Como Sodoma y Gomorra, y las ciudades comarcanas, las cuales de la misma manera que ellos habían fornicado, y habían seguido la carne extraña, fueron puestas por ejemplo: sufriendo el juicio del fuego eterno.

⁸ De la misma manera también estos soñadores amancillan la carne, y menosprecian la potestad, y vituperan las potestades superiores.

⁹ Pero cuando el arcángel Miguel contendía con el diablo, disputando sobre el cuerpo de Moisés, no se atrevió á usar de juicio de maldición contra él, sino que dijo: El Señor te reprenda.

¹⁰ Pero éstos maldicen las cosas que no conocen; y las cosas que naturalmente conocen, se corrompen en ellas, como bestias brutas.

¹ POR tanto nosotros también, teniendo en derredor nuestro una tan grande nube de testigos, dejando todo el peso del pecado que nos rodea, corramos con paciencia la carrera que nos es propuesta,

² Puestos los ojos en al autor y consumador de la fe, en Jesús; el cual, habiéndole sido propuesto gozo, sufrió la cruz, menospreciando la vergüenza, y sentóse á la diestra del trono de Dios.

³ Reducid pues á vuestro pensameinto á aquel que sufrió tal contradicción de pecadores contra sí mismo, porque no os fatiguéis en vuestros ánimos desmayando.

⁴ Que aun no habéis resistido hasta la sangre, combatiendo contra el pecado:

⁵ Y estáis ya olvidados de la exhortación que como con hijos habla con vosotros, diciendo: Hijo mío, no menosprecies el castigo del Señor, Ni desmayes cuando eres de él reprendido.

⁶ Porque el Señor al que ama castiga, Y azota á cualquiera que recibe por hijo.

⁷ Si sufrís el castigo, Dios se os presenta como á hijos; porque ¿qué hijo es aquel á quien el padre no castiga?

⁸ Mas si estáis fuera del castigo, del cual todos han sido hechos participantes, luego sois bastardos, y no hijos.

⁹ Por otra parte, tuvimos por castigadores á los padres de nuestra carne, y los reverenciábamos, ¿por qué no obedeceremos mucho mejor al Padre de los espíritus, y viviremos?

¹⁰ Y aquéllos, á la verdad, por pocos días nos castigaban como á ellos les parecía, mas éste para lo que nos es provechoso, para que recibamos su santificación.

³⁹ And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.

⁴⁰ And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

⁴¹ And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

⁴² Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

⁴⁵ And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,

⁴⁶ And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

⁴⁷ And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.

⁴⁸ But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

⁴⁹ When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

⁵⁰ And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

⁵¹ And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

⁵² Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?

⁵³ When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

⁵⁴ Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.

⁵⁵ And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.

⁵⁶ But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.

⁵⁷ And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.

⁵⁸ And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.

⁵⁹ And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilæan.

⁶⁰ And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.

⁶¹ And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

⁶² And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

⁶³ And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.

⁶⁴ And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?

⁶⁵ And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.

⁶⁶ And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,

⁶⁷ Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:

⁶⁸ And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.

⁶⁹ Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

⁷⁰ Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.

⁷¹ And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

¹ And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate.

¹ PORQUE el reino de los cielos es semejante á un hombre, padre de familia, que salió por la mañana á ajustar obreros para su viña.

² Y habiéndose concertado con los obreros en un denario al día, los envió á su viña.

³ Y saliendo cerca de la hora de las tres, vió otros que estaban en la plaza ociosos;

⁴ Y les dijo: Id también vosotros á mi viña, y os daré lo que fuere justo. Y ellos fueron.

⁵ Salió otra vez cerca de las horas sexta y nona, é hizo lo mismo.

⁶ Y saliendo cerca de la hora undécima, halló otros que estaban ociosos; y díceles: ¿Por qué estáis aquí todo el día ociosos?

⁷ Dícenle: Porque nadie nos ha ajustado. Díceles: Id también vosotros á la viña, y recibiréis lo que fuere justo.

⁸ Y cuando fué la tarde del día, el señor de la viña dijo á su mayordomo: Llama á los obreros y págales el jornal, comenzando desde los postreros hasta los primeros.

⁹ Y viniendo los que habían ido cerca de la hora undécima, recibieron cada uno un denario.

¹⁰ Y viniendo también los primeros, pensaron que habían de recibir más; pero también ellos recibieron cada uno un denario.

¹¹ Y tomándolo, murmuraban contra el padre de la familia,

¹² Diciendo: Estos postreros sólo han trabajado una hora, y los has hecho iguales á nosotros, que hemos llevado la carga y el calor del día.

¹³ Y él respondiendo, dijo á uno de ellos: Amigo, no te hago agravio; ¿no te concertaste conmigo por un denario?

¹⁴ Toma lo que es tuyo, y vete; mas quiero dar á este postrero, como á ti.

¹⁵ ¿No me es lícito á mi hacer lo que quiero con lo mío? ó ¿es malo tu ojo, porque yo soy bueno?

¹⁶ Así los primeros serán postreros, y los postreros primeros: porque muchos son llamados, mas pocos escogidos.

¹ Y PASANDO Jesús, vió un hombre ciego desde su nacimiento.

² Y preguntáronle sus discípulos, diciendo: Rabbí, ¿quién pecó, éste ó sus padres, para que naciese ciego?

³ Respondió Jesús: Ni éste pecó, ni sus padres: mas para que las obras de Dios se manifiesten en él.

⁴ Conviéneme obrar las obrar del que me envió, entre tanto que el día dura: la noche viene, cuando nadie puede obrar.

⁵ Entre tanto que estuviere en el mundo, luz soy del mundo.

⁶ Esto dicho, escupió en tierra, é hizo lodo con la saliva, y untó con el lodo sobre los ojos del ciego,

⁷ Y díjole: Ve, lávate en el estanque de Siloé (que significa, si lo interpretares, Enviado). Y fué entonces, y lavóse, y volvió viendo.

⁸ Entonces los vecinos, y los que antes le habían visto que era ciego, decían: ¿no es éste el que se sentaba y mendigaba?

⁹ Unos decían: Este es; y otros: A él se parece. El decía: Yo soy.

¹⁰ Y dijéronle: ¿Cómo te fueron abiertos los ojos?

¹¹ Respondió él y dijo: El hombre que se llama Jesús, hizo lodo, y me untó los ojos, y me dijo: Ve al Siloé, y lávate: y fuí, y me lavé, y recibí la vista.

¹² Entonces le dijeron: ¿Dónde está aquél? El dijo: No sé.

¹³ Llevaron á los Fariseos al que antes había sido ciego.

¹⁴ Y era sábado cuando Jesús había hecho el lodo, y le había abierto los ojos.

¹⁵ Y volviéronle á preguntar también los Fariseos de qué manera había recibido la vista. Y él les dijo: Púsome lodo sobre los ojos, y me lavé, y veo.

¹⁶ Entonces unos de los Fariseos decían: Este hombre no es de Dios, que no guarda el sábado. Otros decían: ¿Cómo puede un hombre pecador hacer estas señales? Y había disensión entre ellos.

¹⁷ Vuelven á decir al ciego: ¿Tú, qué dices del que te abrió los ojos? Y él dijo: Que es profeta.

¹⁸ Mas los Judíos no creían de él, que había sido ciego, y hubiese recibido la vista, hasta que llamaron á los padres del que había recibido la vista;

¹⁹ Y preguntáronles, diciendo: ¿Es éste vuestro hijo, el que vosotros decís que nació ciego? ¿Cómo, pues, ve ahora?

²⁰ Respondiéronles sus padres y dijeron: Sabemos que éste es nuestro hijo, y que nació ciego:

²¹ Mas cómo vea ahora, no sabemos; ó quién le haya abierto los ojos, nosotros no lo sabemos; él tiene edad, preguntadle á él; él hablará de sí.

²² Esto dijeron sus padres, porque tenían miedo de los Judíos: porque ya los Judíos habían resuelto que si alguno confesase ser él el Mesías, fuese fuera de la sinagoga.

²³ Por eso dijeron sus padres: Edad tiene, preguntadle á él.

²⁴ Así que, volvieron á llamar al hombre que había sido ciego, y dijéronle: Da gloria á Dios: nosotros sabemos que este hombre es pecador.

²⁵ Entonces él respondió, y dijo: Si es pecador, no lo sé: una cosa sé, que habiendo yo sido ciego, ahora veo.

²⁶ Y volviéronle á decir: ¿Qué te hizo? ¿Cómo te abrió los ojos?

²⁷ Respondióles: Ya os lo he dicho, y no habéis atendido: ¿por qué lo queréis otra vez oir? ¿queréis también vosotros haceros sus discípulos?

²⁸ Y le ultrajaron, y dijeron: Tú eres su discípulo; pero nosotros discípulos de Moisés somos.

²⁹ Nosotros sabemos que á Moisés habló Dios: mas éste no sabemos de dónde es.

³⁰ Respondió aquel hombre, y díjoles: Por cierto, maravillosa cosa es ésta, que vosotros no sabéis de dónde sea, y á mí me abrió los ojos.

³¹ Y sabemos que Dios no oye á los pecadores: mas si alguno es temeroso de Dios, y hace su voluntad, á éste oye.

³² Desde el siglo no fué oído, que abriese alguno los ojos de uno que nació ciego.

³³ Si éste no fuera de Dios, no pudiera hacer nada.

³⁴ Respondieron, y dijéronle: En pecados eres nacido todo, ¿y tú nos enseñas? Y echáronle fuera.

³⁵ Oyó Jesús que le habían echado fuera; y hallándole, díjole: ¿Crees tú en el Hijo de Dios?

³⁶ Respondió él, y dijo: ¿Quién es, Señor, para que crea en él?

³⁷ Y díjole Jesús: Y le has visto, y el que habla contigo, él es.

³⁸ Y él dice: Creo, Señor; y adoróle.

³⁹ Y dijo Jesús: Yo, para juicio he venido á este mundo: para que los que no ven, vean; y los que ven, sean cegados.

⁴⁰ Y ciertos de los Fariseos que estaban con él oyeron esto, y dijéronle: ¿Somos nosotros también ciegos?

⁴¹ Díjoles Jesús: Si fuerais ciegos, no tuvierais pecado: mas ahora porque decís, Vemos, por tanto vuestro pecado permanece.
