World Population Day: Humanity is called to invest in the hopes of the youngtranslated

Every year, on July 11, World Population Day is marked, established by the United Nations Development Program (UNFPA) Board of Directors in 1989, as a result of the international interest generated by reaching the symbolic threshold of five billion inhabitants of the planet, on July 11, 1987.
The first edition was organized in 1990. The day aims to draw attention to the challenges and opportunities generated by the demographic evolution, such as the aging of the population, the decrease in the birth rate in some regions, access to health services, education and sustainable development.
Theme of the year 2026 This year's theme is "Fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of young people - today and for the future", emphasizing the need to create the conditions in which young people can start the families they want and can build their futures in dignity and security.
The message is based on the findings of a global study by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), conducted in 73 countries.
