World Photography Day invites the public to capture images of "Home"translated

World Photography Day is celebrated annually on August 19 to promote the science behind the art and history of photography. This year's theme is "Home".
The holiday honors the power of the image captured with a camera, whether by an amateur or a professional, being dedicated to photography enthusiasts.
Since its inception, the art of photography has become a worldwide phenomenon used for all kinds of purposes, from elegant and expensive studio photography for the wealthy classes, to journalism, where the news was accompanied by photographs.
From daguerreotype to digital photography The date of August 19 recalls the year 1839, when the process called daguerreotype was officially announced in Paris. The process was perfected by Louis Daguerre, together with Nicéphore Niépce, and paved the way for modern photography.
A few years earlier, in 1826, Niépce had made one of the earliest known photographic images, through a process called heliography. Since then, photography has gone from technical experiments to one of the most important forms of visual communication.
