European Resuscitation Day highlights the importance of knowing first aid techniquestranslated

European Resuscitation Day, marked annually on October 16, highlights the importance of knowing first aid techniques.
The purpose of the celebration is to educate the population regarding the importance of providing first aid to a person who has suffered a cardio-respiratory arrest, in order to reduce the number of deaths recorded from this cause.
The initiative to celebrate this day belonged to the European Resuscitation Council (ERC). The holiday was marked for the first time in 2013, after the European Parliament called on 14 June 2012 for a week of information across Europe on first aid for a person who has suffered a cardiac arrest and resuscitation techniques.
According to Agerpes, in Europe, every year, more than 350,000 people suffer a cardio-respiratory arrest outside hospitals, so without being able to benefit from immediate medical assistance, and only one in six victims receives emergency help from peers.
The Romanian Red Cross marked the European Resuscitation Day with a flashmob with over 70 volunteers at the Arc de Triomphe in the Capital.
