The commandments of God as the basis of values: a conversation between a priest and UIGA cadetstranslated

October 27, 2026 · 1 min read

On October 26, at the military training center at the Ulyanovsk Institute of Civil Aviation named after Chief Marshal of Aviation B.P. Bugaev began a cycle of spiritual and moral conversations. The meetings are dedicated to the Commandments of God as the basis of universal human values, as well as the harmful influence of religious extremism on unity and harmony in society and the need to counteract it.

The confessor of the educational institution, the rector of the church in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh at the UIGA, Hegumen Seraphim (Lyakhov), met with the cadets. The priest told the cadets about the need to observe the Commandments as the basis of the moral and spiritual health of society.

— True faith in God, not distorted by extremist false teaching, teaches goodness, love and creativity. It teaches us to value human life as a priceless gift from God,” noted Father Seraphim.
