Hello, Nikolay!
The fact that a person died in a fire is a fatal accident that occurred due to various reasons, which I do not know, but certainly not due to spiritual and mystical ones. Only the Lord knows the posthumous fate of a person, and not any of the people. Even knowing a person’s life path, it is difficult to predict how the Lord will decide a person’s posthumous fate. For what - the question is definitely inappropriate. God is love, and He does not destroy the undesirable with fire. This is some kind of terrible pagan theme, but definitely not Orthodox.
When we ask “why?”, we unwittingly assume that tragedy is a punishment for a specific sin. But God does not have a way of educating us in which suffering is given out according to its merits. Christ directly rejected this logic when the disciples asked about the dead: “Do you think that these Galileans were sinners than all the Galileans, that they suffered so much? No, I tell you” (Luke 13:2-3). A fire is a consequence of a damaged world, where the laws of nature and human errors operate, and not “lightning from the sky” for sins.
Our task now...
