Young artists of the Makhachkala diocese will present their works at the second stage of the international competition “The Beauty of God’s World: the Peoples of a United Russia”translated

On September 1, 2026, the XXII International Children's Art Competition “The Beauty of God's World: the Peoples of a United Russia” started.

Pupils of Sunday schools of the Makhachkala diocese became winners of the regional stage of the competition in the categories “Main Theme” and “Icon Painting”. The works of the young participants were highly appreciated by the jury and will continue to participate in the second stage of the competition, which will be held in Moscow.

The jury included: Amirkhan Magomedov, People's Artist of the Republic of Dagestan, Director of the Exhibition Hall of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Dagestan; Head of the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Makhachkala Diocese, Hierodeacon Lazar (Tarasov); Priest Rustik Korneychik.

In the “Main Theme” category, first age group (up to 8 years):

1st place - “Friendship of Peoples, Lydia Akhmedova, 7 years old, Sunday school “Preobrazhenie”, Makhachkala;

2nd place - “Preparation for the Easter holiday”, Maria Sukhova, 8 years old, Sunday school “Angels”, Kaspiysk;

3rd place - “Wedding in a church”, Anna Solomonova, 8 years old, “Angelochka” Sunday school, Kaspiysk.

In the “Main Theme” category, second age group (9–12 years):
