WCC hosts General Commission on Religion and Race of the United Methodist Church

The World Council of Churches (WCC), on 16 September, hosted a group from the General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR) of the United Methodist Church. The visitors received a welcome to the WCC, then entered into a conversation with WCC staff on global migration issues within the European context.

The commission, established in 1968, exists to hold the church accountable for rejecting racism, promoting diversity and inclusion, and ensuring equity at every level of the denomination.

“ Our visit to the World Council of Churches gave us an important opportunity to learn more deeply about the current realities of migration in Europe and the challenges facing migrant communities,” said Rev.
