Dear Rev. Hyde Riley, Dear sisters and brothers of the Jamaica Baptist Union,

“Remember your leaders, those who spoke the word of God to you; consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” (Hebrews 13:7)

We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Rev. Neville George Callam. On behalf of the fellowship of the World Council of Churches (WCC), please accept our most sincere condolences, together with our continued thoughts and prayers, as you, the Church and his family, navigate this season of loss.

Rev. Callam’s life was a remarkable testimony to faithful service. As a pastor, church leader, ecumenist, and servant of the wider Christian community, he gave himself generously to the ministry of the church and to the work of building relationships across communities and Christian traditions.
