Negotiations between US Presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner with Vladimir Zelensky ended in Kiev.
Witkoff called the talks “substantive and important” and added that the American side is “very encouraged.” In one of the rounds, Ukraine’s European allies were supposed to join the negotiations between Trump’s envoys and Zelensky; whether this meeting has already taken place is not specified.
Kushner, during a joint press conference with Witkoff and Zelensky, said that the United States wants to return to the trilateral format of negotiations, which the parties already held about six months ago. “The goal of President Trump and Steve [Witkoff] and I is to create a “peace package.” We must create a framework that will help resolve the issue [of peace],” Kushner said.
Vladimir Zelensky called the visit of Witkoff and Kushner to Ukraine “important and productive.” “Today you worked even better than the Patriot systems for our citizens who are in the capital. Come more often and we will have the opportunity to [let] our people live a little,” he said.
